HARPER HOPS OVER TO WARNER RECORDS

Dionnee Harper is leaving New York and heading to downtown L.A. to lead Warner Records’ marketing strategy as EVP of marketing and artist development. She starts 9/15.

Currently SVP/head of marketing at Atlantic Records, she will report to Warner Records Co-Chairman and COO Tom Corson.

“Dionnee is a true marketing superstar, and her wide-ranging creativity, deep experience, passionate dedication and closeness to the culture will make her a fantastic addition to the team,” Corson said. “She’ll work with Aaron [Bay-Schuck] and me to further develop the identity of the label and unify our marketing strategy across all genres under one outstanding leader.”

Harper has spent her entire, 22-year career with Warner Music Group: She joined Elektra Entertainment Group as an intern in 2000; in 2004, when Elektra merged with Atlantic, she became urban marketing coordinator, then climbed the ranks to her current, SVP post. Harper played a key role in shaping Atlantic’s Black Music department and has been an influential guide and mentor to the next generation of Atlantic executives.

Mark Flaherty, Warner Records’ current EVP/head of marketing, will remain in his post until Harper’s arrival. Moreover, Chris Atlas, Warner’s EVP of urban music and marketing, recently relocated to New York City, where he will be taking on a new role at the label.

“We’re looking forward to announcing an exciting new leadership role for Chris, who’s made exceptional contributions to our success,” Corson said. “I also want to thank Mark for his great work with us over the past five years. We wish him all the best.”
