Five attorneys—(l-r) Kristin Wenning, Tom Dean, Mariah Comer, Dominic Chaklos and Lindsay Arrington—have been promoted to Partner at LaPolt Law.
The quintet has expertise in a range of matters integral to artist careers, including brand partnerships, catalog sales, executive contracts and projects in emerging media (NFTs, Web3). All five also manage fashion, beauty and lifestyle brand partnerships for the firm’s growing roster of top social-media entrepreneurs and influencers.
“They are all zealous advocates for our clients,” said Dina LaPolt. “Their contributions have been vital to the growth of our business.” Managing Partner Sarah Scott added, “These appointments reflect their deep commitment to our tremendous clients.”
LaPolt, a co-founder of Songwriters of North America (SONA), is a vigorous advocate on behalf of creators, ensuring that they are paid fairly for their work. Her legislative expertise in copyright law was instrumental to the passage of 2018’s Music Modernization Act. More recently, she worked with members of Congress to ensure music professionals were eligible for pandemic relief via The CARES Act. Dina is presently producing the Afeni Shakur biopic Peace, Love & Respect while occasionally reminding HITS, in impeccable legalese, to fuck the fuck off.
