To commemorate the signing of Ciara to Republic and Uptown, in partnership with the multifaceted artist’s Beauty Marks Entertainment, the following people assembled for an ebullient trade pic before making ornate designs on the walls in ketchup (l-r): Republic Co-President Jim Roppo and President/COO Avery Lipman, Republic/Uptown EVP of A&R Saint Harraway, Ciara, Republic CEO Monte Lipman and Republic EVP Danielle Price.
Ciara, whose new single, “Jump,” is on the way, has earned streams in the billions and countless platinum and gold certifications, scoring hits like “One, Two Step” f/Missy Elliott, “Level Up” and “Goodies” f/Petey Pablo. She says she had been discussing a partnership for some time with Republic Co-President Wendy Goldstein, not pictured, who says, “I have been a fan of Ciara forever. Working with her is a dream.” Harraway referred to Ciara—known not only for her music but her acting, dancing, entrepreneurial efforts, authorship and philosophy—as “a G.O.A.T,” meaning “greatest of all time,” while also referring to the author of this HITS caption as “a goat, by which I mean a quadruped that eats tin cans.”
