SONY MUSIC SEEKS YOUNG SCHOLARS

Sony Music Group has started a scholarship program for students from diverse backgrounds studying music and music business-related fields.

The Sony Music Group Global Scholars Program will provide annual financial support and a wide range of enrichment programs, including advanced instruction, structured events and webinars with SMG and other industry experts.

“We look forward to awarding these scholarships to an incredible group of recipients who have excelled academically and exude a passion for music," said Towalame Austin, SMG’s EVP Philanthropy and Social Impact. “Through the power of education, this signature program will provide opportunities for the music industry’s next generation of global leaders to bring diverse perspectives to corporations, artists, songwriters and composers."

The program, for which SMG's Global Social Justice Fund is providing funding, is a partnership with the nonprofit Institute of International Education.

Online applications to become a Sony Music Group Global Scholar are available today. Eligible candidates must be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university degree program in music or a music business-related field during the 2022-2023 academic year.
