SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME LAUNCHES TRAVELING EXHIBIT

The Songwriters Hall of Fame has launched a traveling exhibit to celebrate the work and legacy of its inductees.

Curated by Grammy Museum Founding Executive Director Bob Santelli and Chief Curator/VP of Curatorial Affairs Jasen Emmons, the Songwriters Hall of Fame Songwriting Experience will reveal the creative process of some of the hall's most revered writers, diving into many of their compositions.

Artifacts on display will illuminate the work of Sammy Cahn, Desmond Child, Steve Dorff, Woody Guthrie, Toby Keith, John Mellencamp, Alan Menken and Carole Bayer Sager, among many others.

Visitors will be able to watch highlights from Songwriters Hall of Fame galas and interviews with inductees like Jimmy Jam, Keith, Carole King, Smokey Robinson, Sager and Diane Warren, as well as Hal David Starlight Award honorees John Legend, Taylor Swift and Nick Jonas. An interactive display finds Keith, King, Robinson and Don Schlitz dissecting their hit songs.

The free Songwriters Hall of Fame Songwriting Experience is arrayed at New York's CUNY Graduate Center James Gallery through 7/24 from 12pm-6pm Sunday through Wednesday and 12pm-8pm Friday and Saturday. Additional settings will be announced later this year.
