STILLS CARRIES ON WITH IRVING'S ICONIC

Stephen Stills is partnering with Irving Azoff’s Iconic Artists Group to market his extensive catalog, band trademarks and name, image and likeness.

His compositions span “For What It’s Worth,” “Love the One You’re With,” “Helplessly Hoping,” “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” and “Carry On.”

The agreement encompasses the acquisition of Stills’ recorded-music assets from his solo work and his interest in Crosby, Stills & Nash, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Buffalo Springfield, Manassas, The Rides, The Stills-Young Band, the Au Go-Go Singers, Super Session and Stills & Collins.

The Stills/Iconic relationship coincides with the 50th anniversary of Stills’ double album Manassas, which was released 4/12/72; an expanded edition is pegged for a fall release.

“Music is one of the greatest driving forces in my life, a means to communicate a universal language, and it’s comforting to know my life’s work is in the very best hands with Irving and the Iconic team,” Stills said. “With the unreleased recordings I’m uncovering from my vault, and the 50th anniversary of Manassas, it couldn’t have been a more opportune time.”

Stills plans to release new material this year and has hand-picked performances from the aforementioned vault, including a never-released live outing from the Berkeley Community Theatre in 1971.

Iconic earlier struck a deal with Stills' former bandmate David Crosby.

“I have had the pleasure of knowing Stephen for more than 50 years and he is certainly one of rock’s most enduring American treasures,” Azoff said. “I’m pleased that we will be working together to preserve, expand and share his musical legacy for his next generation of fans. Thank God he didn’t wind up in The Monkees.”

Earlier this year, Stills passed on Lenny Beer's offer of a used bong, two audience tapes from CSN Forum shows and a bound collection of HITS magazines for his publishing rights.
