Harry Styles’ Harry’s House (Columbia) and Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti (Rimas) will surpass 1m in U.S. YTD activity this week, becoming the third and fourth albums of 2022 to reach that milestone.
Leading the year is Walt Disney’s Encanto with nearly 1.5m. Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album (Big Loud/Mercury) is currently the runner-up at 1.1m. It was the biggest album of 2021 with 3.23m.
There are now four albums at more than 1m, which is double the count of the same period last year; through the week ending 06/17/2021, only Wallen’s Dangerous and Olivia Rodrigo’s SOUR (Geffen) had reached that level. It would be another month before Justin Bieber’s Justice (RBMG/Def Jam) and Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon (Victor Victor/Republic) would break seven digits.
Last year, 26 albums collected more than 1m in YTD activity.
