TONYS HONOR MJ STAR MYLES FROST

Myles Frost became the youngest person to win the Tony Award for Best Lead Actor in a Musical Sunday, picking up the trophy for his portrayal of Michael Jackson in MJ the Musical.

A Strange Loop was named Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical. Jennifer Hudson won a statuette for her role as a producer of the show, cementing her EGOT status.

The late Stephen Sondheim’s Company was awarded Best Revival, with Patti LuPone and Matt Doyle winning in the musical supporting-acting categories. Paradise Square’s Joaquina Kalukango, whose performance of the show’s “Let it Burn” was among the highlights of the 75th annual Tony Awards ceremony, won Best Actress in a Musical. Six won Best Score.

At 22, Frost is now the youngest Tony winner for Best Lead Actor in a Musical, besting 23-year-old Ben Platt, who won for Dear Evan Hansen in 2017. Three teenagers shared a win in 2009 for playing the title role in Billy Elliot.
