MTV TO HONOR J-LO WITH GENERATION AWARD

Jennifer Lopez will be presented with the Generation Award—joining a class of past recipients like The Rock, Tom Cruise, Reese Witherspoon and Adam Sandler—Sunday, 6/5, at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards.

Hosted by Vanessa Hudgens, the show will kick off live from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif., at 8pm ET/PT. Immediately thereafter, MTV will air its Movie & TV Awards: UNSCRIPTED, hosted by multimedia personality Tayshia Adams. It begins at 10pm ET/PT.

The only artist ever to have a #1 film and #1 album simultaneously, Lopez has become one of the world's most successful entertainers, responsible for 75m records sold and $3b grossed at the global box office. She's also built billion-dollar brands along the way. Her next film, HALFTIME, a documentary on her career and groundbreaking successes of 2019, will premiere on Netflix 6/14.

Executive producers for both award shows are MTV's Bruce Gillmer, Wendy Plaut and Vanessa WhiteWolf and Den of ThievesJesse Ignjatovic and Barb Bialkowski.
