Kendrick Lamar scores the biggest debut of 2022 so far as his acclaimed, 18-track release Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers (pgLang/TDE/Aftermath/Interscope) lands at #1 on our Top 50 chart with a first-week total north of 286k. The new chart-topper, which has racked up more than 300m streams, is but one of three K-Dot albums on the chart this week; his 2012 debut, good kid, m.A.A.d city, and 2017's DAMN. collect around 20k apiece.
Last week's chart champ, Rimas' Bad Bunny, adds an impressive 175k+ to his total, good for #2, while Freebandz/Epic's Future holds #3 with a tidy 88k+.
Republic has two Top 10 bows thanks to #4 TOMORROW X TOGETHER (Big Hit/Imperial) and #7 Florence + the Machine. Jack Harlow remains in the Top 5, tacking on an additional 57k and change. Nonesuch’s The Black Keys score a Top 10 bow with Dropout Boogie.
Streeting this week are Harry Styles’ highly anticipated Harry’s House (Columbia), Zach Bryan’s Warner debut, American Heartbreak, and a new one from Columbia's Train, among other fine recordings.
