EMINEM, DOLLY LEAD
ROCK HALL HONOREES

Eminem, Lionel Richie, Duran Duran, Carly Simon and, whaddaya know, Dolly Parton are getting into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame the first time their names appear on the ballot.

Joining them in the class of 2022 are Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo and Eurythmics. Eminem is the lone act inducted his first year of eligibility.

The Hall noted that six female acts will be inducted in a single class for the first time in the org's 37-year history.

“This diverse group of inductees each had a profound impact on the sound of youth culture and helped change the course of rock & roll,” said R&RHOF Chairman John Sykes., whose three-year reign has been marked by growing stylistic inclusiveness. “Their music moved generations and influenced so many artists that followed.”

In other categories, Judas Priest and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis will receive the Musical Excellence Award and Harry Belafonte and Elizabeth Cotten will be honored as early influencers.

The Ahmet Ertegun Award for non-performing industry professionals goes to attorney Allen Grubman, producer/Interscope co-founder Jimmy Iovine and Sugar Hill Records founder Sylvia Robinson.

The induction ceremony will take place 11/5 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. We’re hoping Mom’s Spaghetti will cater.
