Wilt Wallace has been tapped as SVP Urban Promotion for Columbia. The news was shared by Big Red EVP Promo Peter Gray, to whom Wallace will report.
The Atlanta-based hitter previously served as SVP, Urban Promo, at Warner Records, having risen up the ranks from the mix-show team.
“Wilt has an impressive and remarkably modern approach to promotion that consistently reaches the top of the Urban airplay charts,” reads a quote from Gray. “It’s a genuine thrill to welcome him to our team.”
Calling Columbia “one of the most iconic entities in the history of the music business,” Wallace expressed his “sincere gratitude to Ron Perry, Jen Mallory and Peter Gray for this amazing opportunity,” citing the label’s “unique ability to strategically identify monster hits and successfully deliver them on the charts.”
We dig Wallace’s Illmatic sweatshirt, which is, of course, approved Columbia office attire.
