ASCAP's programming arm, ASCAP Experience, just announced two virtual events, “NFTs: What Every Music Creator Needs to Know” and “Main Stream Music: Composing for TV in the Streaming Age.” Both will take place on the organization's YouTube channel.
The NFT talk—a discussion between Justin Bieber producer Poo Bear and music-tech consultant Vickie Nauman, moderated by nft now co-founder and veteran music journalist Matt Medved—is set for 4/27 at 12pm PT/3pm ET. The group will cover, according to press materials, "the potential of NFTs for music creators, key issues to consider and Poo Bear's new NFT band and music project, Ursa Major."
In the music-scoring session, Variety editor Jazz Tangcay will ask composers about music's impact on TV shows—and culture—during the pandemic. Carter Burwell (The Morning Show), Natalie Holt (Loki) and Siddhartha Khosla (Only Murders in the Building) have all agreed to speak. That will transpire on 5/5 at 12pm PT/3pm ET.
