GRAMMY SALUTE TO SIMON: IT WAS BOUND TO BE STAR-STUDDED

While Clive Davis was being serenaded by the likes of Dionne Warwick and Art Garfunkel in New York for his 90th birthday, Art’s former partner, Paul Simon, was the honoree at a lavish event held at Hollywood's Pantages Theater.

The Ken Ehrlich-produced wingding, titled Homeward Bound: A Grammy Salute to Paul Simon, saw stars like Stevie Wonder, Garth Brooks, Jonas Brothers and Brad Paisley pay musical tribute to the landmark album Graceland and other key Simon creations. The night concluded with a three-song set from Simon himself that included "Graceland," "American Tune" and "The Sound of Silence." Among those offering spoken testimony were Oprah Winfrey, Woody Harrelson, Dustin Hoffman and Herbie Hancock, to name but a few.

Homeward Bound is due to air as a two-hour CBS special sometime in the next few months. Stay tuned for airtimes.

As for what he plans to do for his own 90th birthday, Ehrlich will only say that we should stay the hell away.
