"BRUNO" LEADS BLIGHTY Q1 SALES

Encanto’s “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” (Walt Disney) is the best-selling song of the year in the U.K. so far with 581k, while Ed Sheeran’s = (Atlantic) leads the album tally.

According to Official Chart Company data, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” has racked up 84m streams in the U.K. during the first three months of the year. As well as being the most-streamed song of 2022, its video is the most popular year-to-date, with more than 28m streams.

The track is one of four from Encanto in the OCC’s YTD Top 40, followed by Jessica Darrow with “Surface Pressure” at #7, “The Family Madrigal” at #15 and “What Else Can I Do” at #26. The soundtrack is 2022’s biggest-selling compilation at the end of Q1, with 153k in chart sales so far this year.

Fireboy DML has 2022’s second-biggest song with “Peru” f/Ed Sheeran (Island/YBNL Nation/Empire) on 460k in sales, succeeded by Sheeran’s “Shivers” at #3 with 408k. His “Bad Habits” lands in fourth place with 404k, while Gayle sits at #5 with “abcdefu” (Atlantic) on 398k.

On the Top 10 singles list, Universal and Warner count four entries each (some of which are shared). Sony has two.

Sheeran’s = has shifted 133k in sales so far this year to claim the title of 2022’s best-selling album YTD. Since its release last year, the set has sold 566k in combined sales.

Adele’s 30 (Columbia) takes second place on 94k in 2022 sales and 694k in total. The biggest newly released album of 2022 is The Weeknd’s Dawn FM (Republic/XO/Island), with 76k in sales at #3.

Olivia Rodrigo’s SOUR (Geffen/Polydor) is #4, and Little Mix’s greatest hits collection, Between Us (RCA), closes out the Top 5. UMG counts five albums in the Top 10, followed by Warner's three and Sony's two.
