Nick Raphael, who recently left the helm of Capitol Records U.K., has been tapped as Executive Advisor for nonprofit Cre8ing Vision. The org offers young people educational programs and opportunities in the music industry.
In his new role, Raphael will act as a consultant to Cre8ing Vision’s A&R focus group, designed to help those wanting to start a career in A&R or music management.
Last year Raphael signed Felix the 1st’s viral track “Own Brand Freestyle,” which has racked up more than 100m streams, after being introduced to its producer, Finch Fetti, at an A&R focus group at Capitol Records. “Cre8ing Vision’s A&R focus groups are underutilized—as an A&R source and for both new artists and future exec talent,” he said.
Andrea Euell, Kwame Kwaten and Nicola Ossai fr. Charles founded Cre8ing Vision more than a decade ago. Its portfolio also includes mentoring and employment initiative The Ultimate Music Circle and annual event The Ultimate Seminar.
News of Raphael’s departure from Capitol surfaced in January. He left after nearly 10 years as president and then co-president alongside Jo Charrington. Since then, Charrington has joined forces with EMI Records as co-president of the label in tandem with Rebecca Allen.
