CAPITOL FLIES THE FLAG FOR TDE'S DOECHII

Capitol Music Group boss Michelle Jubelirer celebrates the first big signing of her tenure, Top Dawg Entertainment's buzzing Doechii, with this jubilant photo op at the Tower. The TDE flag was hoisted above the L.A. landmark (see photo below) as the news went wide so music companies in neighboring communities might spy it through their telescopes. Seen just before the Neve board in Studio A was used as the world's biggest sushi platter are (l-r) TDE Senior Executive Manny Smith, Jubelirer, Doechii, TDE boss Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith, CMG Senior Director, A&R, Chris Turner and TDE President Anthony "Moosa" Tiffith.

Tampa-based Doechii’s “Yucky Blucky Fruitcake” has racked up 32m+ streams on Spotify alone. New track “Persuasive,” produced by Kal Banks (J. Cole) and executive-produced by Top Dawg, dropped on 3/18. The singer/rapper/dancer and fashion magnet has been dubbed one of Spotify’s Most Necessary Artists to Watch in 2022 and gotten beaucoup love from Rolling Stone, Complex and other publications.

“The first time I heard Doechii’s music, I experienced that incredible chill-inducing feeling that I live for, as both a music executive and music fan,” reads a quote from Jubelirer, which continues, “It's a real honor to be partnering with Top Dawg and TDE as we work to introduce Doechii to audiences around the world and help her develop into the global superstar we know she’ll become.”

For his part, Top said, "TDE is excited to partner with Capitol Records to provide a platform for Doechii to fulfill her artistic ambitions,” noting that "her energy is contagious.”

As for our energy? Well, we've had several cappuccinos, but we could still easily take a nap.
