U.K. MIDWEEKS: 3-WAY TUSSLE AT THE TOP

Michael Bublé, Placebo and Machine Gun Kelly are battling it out for this week’s U.K. Official Albums #1. Over on singles, Aitch has overtaken Dave at the top spot.

At the halfway point, Bublé’s Higher (Reprise) is leading the albums race by a margin of a few hundred in sales. Placebo sits close behind at #2 with Never Let Me Go (So Recordings). At #3 is Machine Gun Kelly’s mainstreams sellout (Bad Boy/ Interscope/Polydor), the most-streamed album of the week so far.

Following the news of Taylor Hawkins death, Foo FightersGreatest Hits (Roswell Records) has risen 72 places to #4. Live album Skin and Bones could also enter the Top 40, at #36.

Koffee starts at #6 with her debut album, Gifted (Columbia), while a solo effort from former Bros member Matt Goss, The Beautiful Unknown (Lewisham Records), is new at #7.

Rock band Stone Foundation could gain its first Top 10, with Outside Looking In (100% Records) at #9, and Bon Iver’s self-titled second album on Jagjaguwar returns to the chart at #10 thanks to a 10th anniversary reissue.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, Aitch f/Ashanti’s “Baby” (Capitol) sits at #1. However, with just a handful of sales between it and last week’s #1, Dave’s “Starlight” (NBR), the top spot is in play.

Further down, Jax Jones could claim a new peak with “Where Did You Go” f/MNEK (Polydor), up one to #6, while Tiesto and Ava Max’s “The Motto” (Atlantic) could enter the Top 10; it’s up three to #10.

Joel Corry, David Guetta and Bryson Tiller’s “What Would You Do?” (Atlantic) is up 16 places to #15. Two more tracks also look set to enter the Top 20: “Run” (Polydor) by Becky Hill and Galantis, up nine to #16, and Tate McRae’s “she’s all i wanna be” (Ministry of Sound), up four to #17.
