The forthcoming Peacock series The Best Man: The Final Chapters picks up the narrative of Malcolm D. Lee's acclaimed rom-com (deemed one of "70 Classic Black Films Everyone Should See at Least Once" by Buzzfeed), reassembling the stars of the 1999 picture and bringing us up to date on their characters. Lee co-created the series with producer/writer Dayna Lynne North (Insecure). The show's premiere date is TBA.
Music for the series is being supervised by Erica Grayson and Toko Nagata (Midnight Mass). Grayson (pictured) and Lee have co-founded Blackmaled Music for the show. Grayson brokered a partnership for the newco with Sony Music Publishing. Stay tuned for updates.
