U.K. MIDWEEKS: CRASH LANDING

With her fifth album, Charli XCX is on course to claim her first U.K. Official Albums #1. Dave is heading for a third week at the top at singles.

Crash (the final LP to be delivered under the terms of Charli's contract with Atlantic), is leading the midweek race with majority physical sales, which count for 83% of its total so far.

Indie band Sea Girls could have their highest peak in the U.K. on Friday, with Homesick (Polydor) starting at #2. The debut from Feeder, Torpedo (Big Teeth), is #3.

Three more acts may claim their first Top 10 entries on Friday: ArrDee, whose debut mixtape Pier Pressure (Island) is #4 today, Sam Tompkins, with debut major-label EP Who Do You Pray To? (Island), at #6, and Midlake, courtesy of For the Sake of Bethel Woods (Bella Union), at #8.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, Dave’s “Starlight” (NBR) looks set to claim its third week at #1. Last week’s highest new entry, “Baby” (Capitol), by Aitch and Ashanti, is its closest challenger, at #2.

George Ezra’s “Anyone for You” (Columbia) has jumped six places at the halfway point, while Tiesto and Ava Max move one step closer to cracking the Top 10 with “The Motto” (Atlantic), currently up four to #11.

Camila Cabello f/Ed Sheeran’s “Bam Bam” (Epic) is also on the rise, up three to #15, as Bad Boy Chiller Crew’s “BMW” (Relentless) is up four to #17.

Following the release of Crash, Charli XCX could be this week’s highest climber, with “Beg for You” f/Rina Sawayama potentially vaulting 10 places to #19.
