ACTS LINE UP TO SALUTE JONI

Beck, Lauren Daigle, Billy Porter and Herbie Hancock, who won an Album of the Year Grammy interpreting Joni Mitchell’s music, are among the varied collection of musicians heading to Las Vegas to pay tribute to Mitchell, MusiCares Person of the Year.

Stephen Stills, Sara Bareilles, Leon Bridges, Brandi Carlile, Chaka Khan, Angélique Kidjo, Cyndi Lauper, Pentatonix and St. Vincent are also on the bill for the Person of the Year gala, which will transpire 4/1 at the MGM Grand Conference Center. Graham Nash will perform remotely.

Jon Batiste, Black Pumas, Mickey Guyton and Allison Russell were previously announced as performers. James Taylor and Maggie Rogers are no longer participating due to scheduling conflicts with the new date.

Batiste and Carlile, who recently led a 50th anniversary concert tribute to Mitchell’s Blue, are the evening's artistic directors. Mike Elizondo will serve as music director.

"We will be celebrating with a purpose, raising vital funds to address the critical health and social-service needs of the music community while toasting one of music’s greatest songwriters," said Laura Segura, Executive Director of MusiCares.

Let’s hope everyone plays real good for free.
