HIFI PUMPS UP THE VOLUME

Financial-rights organization HIFI has completed a strategic-funding round with backers Quincy Jones, G-Eazy, Capitol Music Group CEO/chair Michelle Jubelirer and manager Gee Roberson.

Manager Ron Laffitte, Wasserman Music’s Tom Windish, HipgnosisNick Jarjour and Alex Black, Red Light Management’s Coran Capshaw and Steve Satterthwaite, Diplo, A-Trak, Hayden James and attorney Gene Salomon are also among the investors in Damian Manning’s start-up. Capital has likewise come from VC firm Lerer Hippeau and Matt Pincus’ joint venture with LionTree, the investment vehicle MUSIC.

“The support we're receiving from artists and their allies is truly unprecedented and indicative of how important our mission—delivering financial transparency and independence to creators across the music industry—is,” said Manning, Founder and CEO of HIFI. “This strategic capital will accelerate the expansion of HIFI’s financial infrastructure and technologies, furthering our commitment to empowering creators with critical business insight and enhanced liquidity to fuel their careers.”

HIFI launched its support for artists signed to the major record labels and publishers last year. It recently released an enterprise version of its dashboard, built in partnership with more than a dozen top business-management firms.
