SONY MUSIC, WKR FORM LATIN MUSIC ALLIANCE

Sony Music Entertainment Latin-Iberia is partnering with Walter Kolm’s WK Records to expand the opportunities available to Latin artists.

Artists on WKR, which launched in June 2020, include reggaeton star Alex Rose, producer/artist Foreign Teck, singer/songwriter Emilia, Argentine trap star Seven Kayne and viral sensation Cheo Gallego.

Walter Kolm Entertainment, meanwhile, manages Maluma, Carlos Vives, CNCO and Emilia, among others.

WKE Head of Music Horacio Rodriguez leads the company as CEO, WKR General Manager/Co-Founder Oscar Guitián runs the Pop and Urban Division and Alberto De León captains the operation's regional Mexican division.

“We have an incredible relationship with the entire WK family,” said Afo Verde, Chairman and CEO, Sony Music Latin-Iberia. “This was a natural next step for us, and we’re excited to work with WK Records to launch a whole new generation of international superstars together.”

“This partnership is personally meaningful to me because of the trust and admiration that I have for Rob Stringer, Afo Verde and Sony Music,” said WK Entertainment CEO Kolm. “It confirms our shared vision to lead the Latin music industry worldwide as we combine our strengths to build an unprecedented alliance.”
