NO RUBLES FOR SPOTIFY

Spotify has suspended business in Russia, including the acceptance of ads and collection of premium subscription payments.

CFO Paul Vogel made the announcement at Morgan Stanley’s 2022 Technology, Media and Telecom Conference.

The streaming service has also pulled content from media outlets RT and Sputnik.

Access to Spotify is still available within Russia, Vogel said, “to allow for the global flow of information.” The company expects to lose about 1.5m paying customers this quarter.

Spotify has been available in Russia and Ukraine since July 2020.
