Three days after her win as ACM Entertainer of the Year, Miranda Lambert has announced the arrival of her first solo album in three years, Palomino (Vanner/RCA Nashville).
The 4/29 release features 15 songs, 14 of which Lambert co-wrote with partners such as Luke Dick, Jon Randall and Natalie Hemby. (Mick Jagger co-wrote the lone cover.)
Dick, Hemby and Lambert started writing songs for the album in 2020 on the latter's farm in Tennessee.
“We figured while we have time, let’s get out to the country and see what happens,” Lambert said. “The first song we wrote was ‘Tourist’ and that set us on a path to create something with a bit of a theme. Since we couldn’t travel at the time, we decided to go on a journey through songs. I hope y’all are ready to travel with us wandering spirits and meet some cool characters with great stories.”
