GOLDSTEIN GROOMS BEARD FOR SUCCESS AS REPUBLIC EVP A&R

Miles Beard has been tapped as EVP A&R at Republic; the hiring was announced by Co-President Wendy Goldstein, to whom he reports.

Beard most recently served at APG; during his decade-long tenure there he inked such artists as Charlie Puth, Alec Benjamin and Pink Sweat$ and worked with David Guetta, Jason Derulo, Pitbull, Flo Rida and others. He was also in charge of lighting $100 bills on fire to spark Mike Caren’s Cohibas.

“Miles has really set the pace for pop music with an unbelievable winning streak of incredible signings throughout the past decade,” reads a quote from Goldstein, who further hailed him as “a prescient executive with sharp instincts and a die-hard work ethic.”

For his part, Beard praised Goldstein as “an amazing creative and executive,” adding, “I am so thankful to be working for such a fearless and innovative leader. Monte and Avery Lipman have really struck the perfect balance of being competitive and maintaining a respectable value system.”

In a related story, a HITS editor read the above quote and asked, “What’s a ‘value system?’”
