Eminem is the RIAA’s new singles champ, with 166m in gold and platinum certifications.
The organization just announced 73.5m in new gold, platinum and diamond awards for the Shady/Aftermath/Interscope rapper. He now has six diamond awards (10m units sold) for three albums—The Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show and Curtain Call: The Hits—and three singles—“Love the Way You Lie,” “Not Afraid” and “Lose Yourself.”
“Interscope joins Aftermath in congratulating Marshall, [manager] Paul [Rosenberg] and the entire Shady team on this remarkable achievement,” said Steve Berman, Vice Chairman, Interscope Geffen A&M. “It has been an honor to be part of one of the greatest journeys in the history of recorded music. The most beautiful part of this is it feels like the journey has just begun.”
Eminem’s career RIAA award total is now 227.5m, including 61.5m in album certifications.
RIAA Chairman & CEO Mitch Glazier said, “These awards recognize Eminem’s unflinching commitment to his craft and the enduring connection he has forged with fans over the last 20 years. I hope he’ll send over some spaghetti.”
