A&R VET WOLTER HEADS TO REPUBLIC

David Wolter is taking his talents to Republic Records, where he’ll serve as EVP of A&R, reporting to Co-President Wendy Goldstein. He will be based in NYC.

The veteran exec will initially shepherd new releases for BENEE, Greta Van Fleet and Jimmy Fallon in addition to signing new talent.

“David is not only one of the most respected A&R executives in the business, he’s an arbiter of the culture,” Goldstein said. “He has left an indelible mark on popular music with incredible and groundbreaking signings throughout his career. He will really set the tone for the future of our A&R team. We connected from our first meeting, and he’s going to be a major asset to the evolution of our department.”

EVP of Capitol Music Group's Virgin Records since 2017, Wolter previously spent a decade at RCA Records. Among his signings are Bleachers, Walk the Moon and Elle King. While at Virgin, where he began in 1997, he personally signed Gorillaz and spearheaded releases for Katy Perry and others.
