THE BIG MUNI

A major-label deal for hot R&B breakout Muni Long is expected soon with a partner that has had the inside track for some time now and ostensibly at the price most insiders thought it would reach. We’re told that distribution issues have been resolved, and Long’s team—led by Chris Anokute, Rashad Tyler and J.R. McKee—is ready to move. The singer/songwriter's “Hrs and Hrs” remains in the Top 10 at Apple Music, where it has lingered since the beginning of the year, and is Top 5 at Urban radio and Top 15 at Rhythm, with a cross to Pop said to be imminent. How big will this thing get? Stay tuned.
