Transpiring virtually for a third year, ASCAP Experience kicks off its 2022 program with an International Women’s Day panel on 3/8.
Beginning at 3pm ET on ASCAP’s YouTube channel, the event will feature Oscar-nominated Encanto composer Germaine Franco, 2021 Pulitzer Prize-winning composer/conductor Tania León and 2016’s ASCAP London Songwriter of the Year, Amy Wadge (Ed Sheeran, James Blunt, Kacey Musgraves).
The panel is part of ASCAP’s Women’s History Month celebration, which showcases exclusive videos from songwriters and composers like Carly Pearce, Lucius, Inayah and Covi Quintana, as well as weekly themed playlists and a Women Create Music episode of VERSED: The ASCAP Podcast.
“We're so excited to launch ASCAP Experience with three phenomenal composers," said ASCAP CEO Elizabeth Matthews. "We believe that celebrating the achievements of our members through our Women Create Music campaign can help create change and ultimately, more opportunity for women in the music industry."
Other 2022 ASCAP Experience sessions will cover NFTs and present exclusive conversations with chart-toppers and discussions during Hispanic Heritage Month, Black Music Month, Pride Month and more. Following 2020’s first virtual event, ASCAP Experience panels saw a 39% increase in attendance in 2021, reaching their widest audience with 41k+ views in real-time and on-demand streaming.
