ULTRA ALIGNS WITH WCM U.K.

Gathering to swap stories about all-night raves on Ibiza are Ultra’s Patrick Moxey, left, Warner Chappell Music U.K. MD Shani Gonzales and Warner Chappell chief Guy Moot.

Ultra Music Publishing has struck a strategic alliance with Warner Chappell Music that will see the two companies exploring collaborations for their respective writers. WCM will also become Ultra’s sub-publisher in the U.K.

Warner Chappell Music will now be responsible for collecting Ultra’s digital income in the U.K. and the rest of Europe.

Warner Chappell Co-Chairman and CEO Guy Moot said of Ultra founder Patrick Moxey: “There are few better at understanding where music is heading and what opportunities are opening up.”

Moxey said the deal will “open up a wealth of new opportunities for Ultra’s writers to collaborate across Warner Chappell Music’s amazing roster of talent and allow us to access its state-of-the-art collection systems and resources on behalf of all those we represent.”

Ultra, which boasts a catalog of more than 36k copyrights, has had shares in top-selling tracks including OMI’s “Cheerleader,” Katy Perry’s “Firework,” Big Shaq’s “Man’s Not Hot,” James Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Go,” Joel Corry and Mabel’s “I Wish” and Diplo’s “Looking for Me.”
