WAVE7’S GNARLY LAUNCH

Former Splice and SB Projects executives Brett Kernan and Michael George have partnered with Independent Co. co-founders Carlo Fox, Josh Andriano and Ben Willis to fund and launch investment and advisory group Wave7.

Focused on the mainstream adoption of decentralized technologies, the crypto and Web3 fund poured seven figures into more than 35 early-stage companies in 2021 alone. They also launched a digital-collectible studio, WAGMI Beach, on public blockchain platform Solana last year alongside Alec Lykken, also formerly of SB Projects, and Arshad Wala. It's seen support from the likes of Scooter Braun, Diplo, Mike Tyson and FUBU founder/Shark Tank investor Daymond John.

“It’s been exciting to onboard our shared networks into this space," said Kernan. "We’re grateful to the many founders who've recognized our value and invited us on their journey."

George added, “For blockchain and decentralized technologies to achieve global mainstream adoption, it needs to be easy and cheap, like buying something on Amazon. Solana has the technical infrastructure and development community to usher in blockchain’s 'iPhone moment.'"

Wave7 has already invested in consumer applications, protocols, decentralized finance platforms, infrastructure and more; portfolio entities include Web3 community platform Metalink, browser-based metaverse Portals, crypto exchange Saber, decentralized-finance and music-business NFT resource Opulous, play-to-earn first-person shooter Gunzilla and GARI, the social token for India’s TikTok, Chingari.
