Disney+ has announced that Olivia Rodrigo: driving home 2 u (a SOUR film) will hit the platform on 3/25. It follows the Geffen star as she recounts the creation of her blockbuster debut while traveling from Salt Lake City to L.A., where she began writing the album.
Along the way, Rodrigo reminisces about writing her record-breaking debut and shares her feelings as a young woman navigating what turned out to be a momentous time in her life.
The film will also feature new arrangements of tracks from SOUR, interviews and never-before-seen recording footage. Stacey Lee directed the project, which was produced by Interscope Films and Supper Club.
"driving home 2 u is such a unique and fresh approach to a music film, and that's just what we've come to expect from Olivia," said IGA Chairman/CEO John Janick. "It's an authentic look into her creative process, her incredible drive and who she is as an artist and a person.”
The picture arrives one week before the 64th Grammy Awards. Rodrigo has received seven nominations, including the Big Four.
