TRAIN GOES FOR THE GOLD

Train has released the title track from its 11th studio album, AM Gold (Columbia), due on 5/20. It’s the group’s first release of all-new original music in five years.

Said Train frontman Pat Monahan, "Writing songs for two and a half years in front of video screens instead of being in the presence of other humans has been a long, strange trip. And now, here we are.”

The band will head out on a summer-long tour of three dozen dates, with Jewel and Blues Traveler as openers. The Live Nation-produced road show starts 6/8 in Mansfield, Mass., and wraps at Red Rocks in August.

Pre-sales begin Tuesday; the general on-sale starts 2/25. Train’s wine company, Save Me San Francisco Wine Co., is the tour sponsor.

After reminiscing about H.O.R.D.E. festivals and Lilith Fairs, we sought comment from Train’s reps. Unfortunately, Crush Music’s J.D., Bob and Kruchkow were enjoying a nearby oxygen bar and unavailable for comment.
