U.K. MIDWEEKS: TURNER HEADS FOR #1

Frank Turner could claim his first #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart on Friday with FTHC (Polydor). Over on singles, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are new at #2.

Turner has more than double the weekend sales of his closest competition at the halfway point, alt-J’s The Dream (Infectious Music), at #2.

Slash and Myles Kennedy’s 4 (BMG) is also new, at #3, followed by James Morrison’s Greatest Hits (Believe) at #5.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, Viola Beach’s posthumous self-titled debut on Fuller Beans is set to re-enter the chart at #7 following a special vinyl release.

Big Thief’s Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You (4AD) starts at #8, and Eddie Vedder is #9 today with Earthling (UMG).

On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, Sheeran and Swift’s “The Joker and the Queen” (Atlantic), which Sheeran performed at last week’s BRIT Awards, looks set to claim this week’s highest new entry.

“We Don’t Talk About Bruno” (Walt Disney) from Encanto is on track for a fifth week at #1.

Lost Frequencies and Calum Scott’s “Where Are You Now” (Insanity) holds at #5, “Seventeen Going Under” (Polydor) by BRITs winner Sam Fender is up one to #6 and “Make Me Feel Good” (Polydor) by Belters Only and Jazzy continues its rise, currently up one to #7.

Outside the Top 10, Dove Cameron could claim her first U.K. Top 20 single with “Boyfriend” (Sony), starting at #15, thanks in part to success on TikTok.
