Capitol Christian Music Group has promoted EJ Gaines to SVP Marketing/Co-Executive Director. He'll report to CCMG Co-President Hudson Plachy.
In his expanded position, Gaines will be responsible for various CCMG artists’ marketing and brand development while maintaining his role at Motown Gospel, where he's been since 2018. He recently oversaw campaigns for Harry Connick Jr., Tori Kelly and Tasha Cobbs Leonard.
"EJ is an important part of the senior leadership team at CCMG, and he has taken on increased responsibility to serve our artists across the company,” said Plachy. Co-President Brad O'Donnell added, "We’re very thankful to have EJ on our team and believe he will do great things in his new role.”
“I’m thrilled to serve our artists, writers and label team in this greater leadership capacity," said Gaines. "It’s an exciting time of forging new paths for our company and I’m so fortunate to work with the best in the business as we continue to impact the world with our music."
Gaines—who began his career at Jive and Verity Records—was previously an entertainment attorney and artist manager, working with such artists as Mary Mary, Natalie Grant, Donald Lawrence, William McDowell and Jonathan McReynolds.
