Quality Control has hired two respected execs to lead its A&R division. Brandra Ringo has been named EVP/Head of A&R. Wayno Clark joins as VP/Head of A&R.
Ringo arrives with a decade of experience in publishing, including seven years at UMPG under her mentor, Ethiopia Habtemariam. She most recently served at Warner Chappell. During her career, Ringo has placed records for Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Maroon 5, Chris Brown, Saweetie and many more while signing hitmakers DJ Durel (Migos), Pi’erre Bourne (Lil Uzi Vert, Drake) and BEAM (Justin Bieber).
Said QC CEO Pierre “P” Thomas, “Brandra is someone I’ve trusted for a while and am so excited to be able to bring into the QC family, because she’s got some of the best ears in the game. She’s so intelligent, focused and dedicated, with a level of determination that gets her out of the office and really living in the field to make these records happen in a way that is far beyond what I’ve seen from most A&Rs.”
For his part, Clark helped launch rapper/songwriter/actor Dave East’s career via his management company, Triangle Offense; spent three years as the host of Complex’s talk show, Everyday Struggle; and served as an A&R exec at Asylum, where he worked with Sada Baby. Clark has already signed QC’s newest act: fast-rising Detroit rapper Baby Money. In addition to his role at QC, he’ll continue to work with Habtemariam at Motown, where he holds the title of Senior Director of A&R.
“Wayno has an incredible sense of taste, with his keen eyes on the ground and being so tapped into the culture, where he always knows what’s hot and what’s moving,” QC COO Kevin “Coach K” Lee enthused. “His incredible communication skills and ability to connect with artists brings the real magic out in the music. We are so fortunate to have him adding his amazing talent to our team.”
