BRIT AWARDS 2022: THE WINNERS

Adele swept tonight’s BRIT Awards, taking home three gongs, while Universal claimed the most winners with six. Standout performances came from Little Simz (who's pictured below) and Dave.

Adele, who performed a glittering rendition of “I Drink Wine,” took home Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for “Easy on Me” (Columbia) and Album of the Year for 30. The star dedicated the latter to her son and his father, relating, “This album was all of our journey, not just mine. I’m really proud of putting out this album about something that was so personal to me.” She also paid tribute to Producer of the Year Inflo, who, she said, “changed my life, not just with my music.”

Warner also had three wins, with Dua Lipa (Pop, R&B), Silk Sonic/Bruno Mars/Anderson. Paak (International Group) and Ed Sheeran (Songwriter of the Year). The independent sector had two with Dirty Hit’s Wolf Alice (Group) and Age 101/AWAL act Little Simz (Best New Artist).

Universal’s tally included Sam Fender (Rock, Alternative), Becky Hill (Dance), Dave (Hip Hop, Grime, Rap), Billie Eilish (International Artist), Olivia Rodrigo (International Song of the Year for “Good 4 U”) and Holly Humberstone (who had already been announced as Rising Star pre-ceremony).

First-time BRITs winner Simz performed a medley of songs from her excellent fourth album, while Dave lent a show-stopping end to the ceremony with “In the Fire” alongside Ghetts, Giggs and Fredo.
