U.K. CHARTS: A FIRST FOR DISNEY

The Encanto cast’s “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is the first-ever original Disney song to land at #1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart. Over on albums, The Wombats also score a first.

With 6.3m streams this week, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” rises two places to hit the top for its third week in the Top 40. The Encanto soundtrack has two more releases in the Top 20: “Surface Pressure” by Jessica Darrow rises to a new peak of #5 and “The Family Madrigal” by Stephanie Beatriz and Olga Merediz is up 14 spots to #15.

Last week’s #1, “abcdefu” (Atlantic) by Gayle, falls to #2 but remains the most-downloaded single of the week. Rising two spots to #4, Fireboy DML and Ed Sheeran’s “Peru” (Island) achieves a new apex.

Lost Frequencies and Calum Scott’s “Where Are You Now?” (Insanity) vaults six spots to #11. This week’s highest climber comes courtesy of Dublin DJ collective Belters Only, whose “Make Me Feel Good” f/Jazzy (Polydor) flies 18 places to #17.

On the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart, The Wombats have their first #1 with fifth album Fix Yourself, Not the World (AWAL). The band claims the most physically purchased albums of the week, which counted for 86% of its total sales.

After hitting the top of the chart last week, The Weeknd’s Dawn FM (Island) falls three to #4 but is still the most-streamed album in the U.K.

Bonobo’s Fragments (Ninja Tune) is new at #5 and Elvis Costello’s The Boy Named If (EMI) charts at #6.

Outside the Top 10, The Lumineers BRIGHTSIDE (Decca) opens at #18.
