BRITS DETAILS: PERFORMERS AND PROTOCOLS

Dave (pictured), Doja Cat, Ed Sheeran and Little Simz are among the first cohort of performers announced for The BRIT Awards, which have revealed details of how the event will tackle the ongoing pandemic.

Artists, nominees and guests will be asked to present a negative lateral-flow test on arrival, and fans will be offered the opportunity to buy stall seats on the arena floor, where nominated artists will also be in an exclusive area. (This means no tables for industry, who typically take up floor space.) There will be no social-distancing requirement, but audience members will be asked to wear masks when not eating or drinking or in their seats.

The BRITs are offering emergency-service workers the chance to win tickets through a raffle, following the gifting of tickets to NHS frontline staff last year.

Others on the performance bill include Holly Humberstone and Liam Gallagher. The BRITs will take place at London’s O2 Arena on 2/8 and will be broadcast on ITV and YouTube (for viewers outside the U.K.).
