PRINCE ESTATE VALUE SET AT $156.4M

Prince's estate finally has an agreed-upon value: $156.4m. The process of distributing his wealth could begin in February.

The Internal Revenue Service had valued the estate at $163.2m in 2020, while its administrator, Comerica Bank & Trust, had pegged it at $82.3m.

Now that the government and Comerica have an agreement—after six years of legal battles—it’s up to the estate’s stakeholders to give their OK for the distribution of monies.

Primary Wave became the largest shareholder in the Prince estate last summer; it owns about half. Prince’s half-siblings, Sharon, Norrine and John Nelson, hold most of the remaining half.

Prince died in 2016 without a will.
