In her first major move as Capitol Music Group Chairman/CEO, Michelle Jubelirer has promoted marketing exec Arjun Pulijal to President of the company.
In his new role, the Tower-based Pulijal will work with Jubelirer in leading CMG and planning its direction through strategic initiatives. He’ll also directly oversee all areas of artist development, including creative, marketing and operations.
“Arjun is renowned throughout our company, the industry and the creative community for prioritizing artistry in all aspects of presenting music to the world,” said Jubelirer. “He is more than artist-friendly; he is artist-first, and his approach has resulted in some of our company’s most acclaimed and commercially successful releases. He is a proven leader and will be integral to working with me and our senior management team as we achieve our goals and plan our company’s future.”
As SVP of Marketing for Capitol Records, Pulijal oversaw the design and execution of marketing campaigns for the full roster. Among the recent projects under his watch were Paul McCartney’s McCartney III, Halsey’s If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, ABBA’s Voyage and Queen Naija’s Misunderstood. He’s also led marketing efforts for Beck.
Pulijal joined Capitol in 2013 as Director of Marketing, rising to VP in 2017. Prior to that, he spent seven years at Epic Records in New York, first in A&R and then in various departments, including publicity and digital, before becoming Marketing Director in 2009.
Said Pulijal, “I want to thank Michelle and Sir Lucian Grainge for their incredible support throughout my years at CMG, and for their belief in me to help lead this iconic company into a new era. Now who are these HITS people who keep calling and how did they get my number?”
