ENCORE ADDS LEGAL AND FINANCE EXECS

Joie Manda's Encore Recordings has added two executive hires: Mimi Camara is appointed SVP Business & Legal Affairs and Tawny Thompson joins as Controller & VP of Finance.

Camara (left) brings 10 years of experience in the biz, including stints at Atlantic and most recently Warner, where she played an integral part of the legal team for artists like Cardi B, Saweetie, Wale and NLE Choppa.

“I am humbled to work alongside Joie and the Encore team in building an organization that will surely disrupt music-business conventions,” said Camara. “Tawny and I, as two Black women, are occupying a space usually reserved for men, typically white men at that. It is truly amazing and forward-thinking that Joie is moving both the culture and business into the future this way.”

Prior to joining Encore, Thompson spent 14 years in business management, working closely with Red Hot Chili Peppers and Shakira along with other A-list talent and top-earning tours.

Camara and Thompson join GM Ned Monahan and label manager Diana Chung, who've been at Encore since its inception in November 2021.
