PINKPANTHERESS WINS BBC SOUND OF 2022

Parlophone signing PinkPantheress has been crowned winner of BBC Radio 1’s Sound of 2022, with Wet Leg, Mimi Webb, Lola Young and Central Cee also making the Top 5.

PinkPantheress, a British singer and songwriter who combines garage, two-step, pop and alt rock, has enjoyed success on TikTok—she has more than 1m followers and 7.5m likes—with her tracks “Break It Off” and “Just for Me.” She’s also garnered a host of DSP and radio support, landing on the BBC Radio 1 A List and Brit List playlists. Her debut mixtape, To Hell With It, arrived in October, peaking at #20 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart.

PinkPantheress is handled by Up Close MGMT and booked by Paradigm (Europe and Asia Pacific) and WME (North and South America). Her U.S. label is Elektra. Read more about her in the profile that appeared in our recent U.K. Special, conveniently provided to you here.

Warner, meanwhile, counts another act in the Top 5 of the Sound of 2022, Central Cee, who's distributed by ADA. He came in fifth. Domino band Wet Leg took second place, followed by Epic signing Mimi Webb and Island act Lola Young at third and fourth place, respectively.
