JEWEL CRUSHES THE MASKED SINGER

Spoiler alert: Jewel has won season six of The Masked Singer. In celebration of her victory, the Grammy-nominated artist has dropped a covers EP, Queen of Hearts.

The seven-song collection—named for her disguise on the show—includes reimagined versions of Édith Piaf’s “La Vie En Rose,” Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” Sia's "Bird Set Free,” Bishop Briggs’ “River” and other songs she performed on the television contest.

Jewel was joined on the program by the likes of Todrick Hall and Faith Evans.

“Performing on The Masked Singer was fun for me because it allowed me to pay homage to songs that inspired me to be a songwriter and a singer,” she said. “It was also fun because I was able to pull from all genres and all eras, which a person rarely gets to do. That's why I was inspired to release all the songs I chose—I had so much fun interpreting these songs that I wanted to share them!”

The EP follows the 2020 25th anniversary reissue of her multiplatinum debut, Pieces of You. Jewel will release her first new studio album in seven years in early 2022.

In the meantime, stream Queen of Hearts here.
