Sixteen albums and 98 songs released in 2021 received gold and platinum awards from the RIAA.
Geffen’s Olivia Rodrigo had the top single, “drivers license,” and her debut, SOUR, tied with Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album (Big Loud/Republic) atop the albums list.
Justin Bieber and Moneybagg Yo had the year’s other platinum albums, while a dozen titles went gold. Karol G was tops in singles and albums on the Latin list.
“In a landmark year for our nearly 65-year-old gold and platinum program, the RIAA awarded more than 100 titles across many genres and styles of music,” said Liz Kennedy, RIAA Senior Vice President, Gold & Platinum Program Awards. “These awards mark the pinnacle of creative and commercial success in our business and celebrate artists and their label partners who connected so powerfully with their fans and the broader culture this past year.”
