Crush Ventures is the latest biz entity to invest in 237 Global, and Crush will join the tech/services/VIP ticketing company’s advisory board. Led by biz vet Mark Weiss, 237 has been working in various capacities with artists like Shawn Mendes, Weezer, Justin Bieber, Trippie Redd, Green Day, New Kids on the Block, Alanis Morissette, Tate McRae, 24k Goldn, Iann Dior and more. The company develops white-label apps that enable acts to leverage their fan relationships directly (not to mention sell tickets, merch and whatever else) while also developing in-person and virtual VIP experiences.
The new funding round will enable 237 to grow its offerings as it demonstrates the value proposition of artists owning their own content—rather than giving it away on the socials.
“We are excited to invest in Mark's vision for a soup-to-nuts platform that will bring fans and artists together into tighter, more direct relationships now and into the future,” declared Crush Ventures’ Andrew Kahn.
For his part, Weiss acknowledged that the Crush Ventures team has been “incredibly supportive over the years. We are thrilled to expand our relationship with these incredible people.” He also added that he was “incredibly” embarrassed to be associated with HITS.
Where does the name 237 come from? Weiss is mum on the provenance but does acknowledge that he is a fan of both Stephen King and Stanley Kubrick.
