AN ENCORE FOR MANDA

Former Interscope Geffen A&M EVP Joie Manda has opened the doors to Encore Recordings, an independent, full-service music company.

Manda’s first hire is Ned Monahan, presently Head of Global Hits at Spotify, who will become General Manager of the Beverly Hills-based label starting 1/1. Manda and Monahan previously worked together at Interscope.

“I take a lot of pride in developing artists, executives and partnering with young entrepreneurs,” Manda said. “Encore Recordings will be synonymous with pushing culture forward. I feel very lucky that both Ned and Diana Chung have decided to join the company, and we look forward to announcing the addition of other key team members in the very near future.” Chung, who will join Encore as Label Manager, also previously served at Interscope, where she most recently held the post of A&R Manager.

Manda spent nearly 10 years at Universal Music Group and a decade prior to that at Warner Music Group.

Monahan called his Spotify experience “the opportunity of a lifetime” as he looked to the future, remarking, “I have no doubt that the team at Encore will foster a unique and exciting new home for musicians to build their audiences and businesses to the fullest extent.”
