INGROOVES' BIG MOVES IN INDIA

Ingrooves has announced global distribution deals with two of the biggest stars in India: Himesh "HR" Reshammiya and Yo Yo Honey Singh.

Future releases from HR and artists on his label, Himesh Reshammiya Melodies, will arrive via Ingrooves. The singer/actor/producer/composer is one of the biggest hit machines in India.

The deals were forged by industry veteran Amit Sharma, who has been named Ingrooves' Country Manager, India, further expanding the company's presence on the subcontinent and showcasing its dynamic suite of services for a new wave of Indian artists.

"We are celebrating our entrance into the Indian music market with the signing of two amazing artists—we couldn't be happier," said Bob Roback, CEO of Ingrooves Music Group. "Amit is a highly respected music executive and is already playing a key role in the market as we look to work with the best independent labels and artists in India."

Based in Mumbai, Sharma joins Ingrooves from Gaana, one of India’s major domestic commercial music-streaming services, with 200m+ monthly users, where he served as Assistant VP of Content Acquisitions.

Ingrooves, which has significantly expanded its global footprint of late, serves as an independent-label-services wing for Universal Music Group. Said Devraj Sanyal, UMG Managing Director and CEO, India and South Asia, "The time is right for Ingrooves to create a strong local presence, utilizing their unique and unrivaled technology and services to benefit the independent artist community.”
