Shazam users are firing their phones at Netflix’s revisionist Western The Harder They Fall, making four tracks from the Geneva Club/Roc Nation soundtrack fly up the Top 100 in the U.S. and U.K.
While Kid Cudi & Jay-Z’s “Guns Go Bang” leads the way in the States, Shazammers in both countries are also grooving to two tunes from the reggae/dancehall performer Barrington Levy, “Better Than Gold” and “Here I Come.” CeeLo Green’s “Blackskin Mile” is equally popular on both sides of the Atlantic. “The Promised Land,” a 1996 song by reggae artist Dennis Brown that’s in the film but not on the soundtrack, has thumbs wagging as well.
Silk Sonic’s “Smokin Out the Window” (Aftermath/Atlantic) is not in any film but is catching the ears of Shazammers.
